Wall art is personal, subjective, and can tell your own story of where you’re from or what you’re about. If you are struggling to figure out how to make your blank walls come to life here are some ideas for how to spruce them up!
- Think outside the box. Adding a basket to keep fresh flowers is fun and flowers always make a house feel a little more like home! If you don’t want to buy new flowers each week, invest in some faux stems that look real.
2. Diversify your art prints. Mix & match and don’t be scared of contrast! In our guest bathroom I chose 4 prints that had a similar color scheme, not a smiler style. This is true also of the frames. Each one is a different color but they all complement one another and keep this gallery wall from being too boring. While each of these prints are different and unique, collectively they all go together. #allbumswelcome
3. Use signage. This black metal sign from Magnolia Market catches your eye and is large enough to make a statement. This is one of my favorite pieces in my home!
4. One of my favorite traditions that my husband & I do is to bring home an art print specific to the countries we have visited. I’m not a huge souvenir lover, but I am a sucker for art prints. We now have a way to remember each trip & people always ask us the story behind each one!
5. Lastly, use what you have. I knew I wanted to add something to the wall next to my vanity but didn’t want to buy another print. Placing some of my favorite hats on the wall added texture and was a fun way to not only store them but admire them! See if you can find anything around your home that would serve a similar purpose, i.e. a flat basket or a maybe even a small crossbody bag!
