Lighting can make or break a room. Too fluorescent, too much light, or not enough of it makes a room uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

Here are some tips I try to stick to:

  1. Lighting should be balanced. Try to have a light source every 6-8 feet. I typically never have any overhead light on, ever. All my light comes from lamps!
  2. Pick something reflective of your personal style
  3. Choose lamps that give off good light. If you have a lamp that isn’t well lit try switching out the bulb.
  4. Don’t be matchy-matchy. Its okay to pick out two different lamps for either side of the bed or sofa. You know the golden eyebrow rule “sisters not twins”? Same applies here.
  5. Make sure your lamp is the appropriate size for your table or room. The lamp should not be more that 1.5 times taller than the table it is on. Respectively, the lamp shade should not be wider than the table or surface. If the shade goes beyond the edge, it’s too big.

The lamps in this post cover multiple design styles but stay pretty neutral, surprise surprise!

I found some really beautiful and fun lamps on Amazon and I hope you love them as much as I do! Click the picture to go to the website. I have a similar post covering some amazing pillows/pillow covers from Amazon also. You can check it out here.

Each of these lamps is an affiliate link. I may receive a small commission if you purchase!
