Media cabinets are an essential piece of furniture for your living room, office, or bonus room. Anywhere you have a TV, I suggest placing a media cabinet or console underneath (if possible). They are a stand for your tv or they can be placed underneath your wall mounted tv and serve as a storage solution for your space. We store our speaker, our switch/video games, all my random seasonal candles, some workout equipment, board games, and where there’s open shelving, I put extra cookbooks that I don’t use often!

Some media cabinets above have open or visible shelving. I think this style is perfect for someone who has decor, keepsakes, or lots of books that they want to display. Less can sometimes be more (although not always) when it comes to styling multiple shelves – keeping them neat and tidy will make it look less cluttered! A cabinet with cabinet doors that aren’t see through is going to be more ideal for someone who lacks storage space and needs to hide away random every day things. If you’re in-between (like me!) then a cabinet with open shelving and the ability to hide stuff is going to be your best option. I don’t want our house guests to see my 3LB weights & yoga mat and have them going through my embarrassingly large candle collection…

The tops of these cabinets is a great opportunity to display and style your favorite decor! I love to style mine with coffee table books, vases, trays, tabletop decor objects, and seasonal decor. You can really style them however you like! Just make sure that any tall pieces aren’t going to obstruct the view of the TV. If you are looking for inspiration for how to style your tabletops, you can look at this blog post I wrote here! I also have a lot of affordable Amazon decor that you can browse through here.

I found a few options that are at all price points – some are $300 and some are $2,000. If you would like help finding a media cabinet, or any piece, for your home, you can contact us here.
