Styling an entryway table needs to account for functionality but also being aesthetically appealing. Your entryway sets the tone for your home since it’s typically the first place your guests see when they enter your home. It sets the mood + welcomes them into your space!
Here are some of my tips for styling your entryway (or any console) table:
- Choose a table that is the right size and scale for your entryway. The grander the space, the larger the scale of furniture should be. You should also take into account whether you want a lot of storage, something bold in color, or a piece more decorative.
- Balance out the decor that your place on top of the table. The left side and the right side should compliment each other.
- Layer! Place vases on top of stacked books or use baskets in front of each other. This creates depth and, in the case of the baskets, adds more functionality.
- Prevent clutter. If your table doesn’t have drawers, use trays or small bowls to organize keys, mail, and other everyday items.
- Make it you! This is the entrance to your home and should reflect not only your personal style, but the feeling that you want guests to get when they step into your home.
