Decorating the outside of your home may not be at the top of your list. Your main living spaces on the inside are most likely to take your attention as that’s where most of the entertaining happens. Finding furniture for our deck was the least of my worries since I wanted my living room and kitchen to first reflect my style. Once I bought a few affordable pieces for outside I was immediately thankful that I did! Not only did we now have an additional space to entertain, but our backyard was pretty to look at from the inside! You can shop the image by clicking on each item below or by clicking here.

When we found our home back in 2017 it was a “coming soon” property.  The current owners were in the process of flipping the house & everything was brand new. The AC unit, the roof, the windows, & the deck. Once we stained the deck we settled for 4 plastic Adirondack chairs from a local grocery store. You know the kind…they come in about 8 different colors? Ours are red and let me pause & say that we still use them! My goal is not to get you to just spend money and replace things that are perfectly functional. My goal is to help you make your home beautiful and functional. With that, I knew that we would keep the red chairs, but I did want something nicer & more long lasting.

We started off with purchasing a set of 2 outdoor chairs from Target. We next bought string lights (a #1 way to make an outdoor space feel cozy). Next we got a gas fire pit and the last thing we bought was a rug. We didn’t buy everything at once but rather chose something to get next each month or so! Our porch isn’t huge so with all of those things + a gas grill we are good to go.

If you want to start updating a deck or a screened in porch or any area outside, first make a list. I’ve made one at the end of this post to help you! After you have your list identify which items are most important to you and start with that. Move down the list and know that you do not need to buy everything at once! If you can do that, that’s amazing, do it! Each person is going to have things that are more important to them and their style. If I can help you get there then I have done my job.

If you have recently redone an outdoor space I would love to see! If you need help pulling a space together I would love to chat with you about it to see if I can help you. Message me here!
